Run for Fun  After School Camps

Run for Fun is an outdoor after school camp that focuses on play through games, sports and crafts. Kids will have a much needed opportunity to play outdoors in age appropriate groups. Campers are placed in a sports & games cohort. Run for Fun welcomes children of all ages and athletic abilities and emphasizes good sportsmanship and positivity. Our staff is compassionate, spirited and values making personal connections with the kids. Our Fall Camp is open to grades 1st – 8th.

Currently, we are close to hitting our maximum number of participants allowable at Peers Park, based on our Staffing. If you register and your age-group is “filled” already, then you will be emailed promptly and added to a Waitlist, or Refunded (depending on your desires). For the Waitlist, way MAY open more pods once enough registrants are waitlisted. This depends on our ability to safely and effectively Staff the pod, it can be a puzzle. We appreciate your patience and understanding in these different times.

Additionally, once a week on Mondays we offer Break-A-Sweat Fitness at Peers Park for 5th-8th graders. Participants will be coached in sprinting technique, participate in body weight exercises, cone drills, agility ladders, strengthening, stretching and more. Please sign up for this activity track if your camper is interested in a fitness program. This program will be separate from our sports, games program.

Within each Cohort we will have a maximum of 12 campers. Private cohorts can be requested but must have at least 8 campers to each group, and commit to 8 weeks of programming. These cohorts can be at Peers Park, if space allows, or you can contact us at to request a private cohort at the location of your choosing.

Camps are held Monday – Friday at Peers Park in Palo Alto located just off of Stanford Avenue for 2-2.5 hours per day mid August – end of October. In the case of light rain, classes are held underneath canopies provided by the Run for Fun staff. The coaches have plenty of innovative and fun games that the kids really enjoy for rainy day activities. In the event of heavy rain or field closure due to heavy rain in the prior 24hrs Run for Fun will cancel camp and notify parents via e-mail. Parents can choose between credit or a refund for rainout/smoke days.

Run for Fun will follow guidances laid out by the Santa Clara County Public Health Department mandatory directives for programs serving children or youth published on 7/13/20. All campers will remain in consistent cohorts during their time at Run for Fun Fall Camps. The county directive encourages the use of face coverings for kids age 5-11, we will require face coverings to participate in our programs. Face coverings will be worn at all times, other than when playing sports and games that involve movement. During these activities face coverings will not be worn but all members of the cohort will be socially distanced. Children can not attend other childcare or after school programs while attending the Run for Fun Fall Camp. This is for the safety of all of our campers and staff and is part of the Mandatory Directive Santa Clara County Public Health Mandate.
