Operations During the Pandemic
Run for Fun Camps has successfully navigated our 11-week, Fall Afterschool Camps by following Santa Clara County & CDC Guidelines. This experience has given us a strong understanding of how we can safely serve youth during Summer 2021. Campers will be in stable groups of no more than 16 kids during the session (number may change based on County directives). Upon arrival at camp our Administrative Staff will administer a daily questionnaire and temperature check to each camper and staff upon entry. Campers will be distanced within their groups, and will wear face coverings. During athletic games that require full running face coverings come off (per County directives). Campers / Staff hand sanitize before and after all games. Equipment is thoroughly cleaned and each Coach has their own ball bag dedicated to their Campers. We utilize pool noodles as “distance checkers,” for safe distance and tagging throughout games!
Camp Programming for Adventure Day Camp
Each week of camp features two to three adventures with all other days hosted at our main elementary school location (see chart below for location details). On campus, kids are assigned to counselors by age group for morning activities. Morning activities include classic field games such as capture the flag, gaga ball, dodgeball, soccer, street hockey, scottish handball, knockout and many more. Additionally, there is a morning craft table set-up in the shade that includes friendship bracelets, jewelry-making, sand art, pipe cleaner animals and tissue paper bouquets. Campers can choose to craft at any time during the morning. After lunch we offer play-by-choice, where campers can pick from three to four awesome stations with rotations offered every 40 minutes.
